MCS1000 costituisce un VPN sytem-on-a-chip con tre interfacce Ethernet 10/100. Può lavorare in modalità slave svolgendo la funzione di Fast Ethernet Controller altamente sicuro, oppure in modalità standalone come gateway, VPN o firewall hardware.
Il core è un microprocessore RISC a 32 bit ARM926EJ da 200MHz. Il modulo VPNow (TM) permette di gestire tutte le funzionalità IPSec ed implementare algoritmi di criptaggio come DES, 3DES, AES, MD5; SHA-1 ed SHA-256.
